After a fantastic summer, and a real estate market that most of us thought would never happen in Saskatchewan, it is time to get back to basics.
I look favorably at our leveling market. Why? I think we were over due to have some serious growth in Saskatoon, but the slow down shows that the increase will be sustainable. The prices are not dropping, as our media would like to think, the price reductions we are seeing are the corrections to the properties that overshot the curve, and did not see the leveling of the market happening.
In normal market conditions price adjustments are a common occurrence, and for the first few months after the summer we had are inevitable, as the sellers get a reality check. ( maybe 50% increase is enough!)
So if you want to sell your home, the market is still strong! The toughest part will be the mind shift, it will in fact take a few months to sell, you need to showcase the home by staging and upgrades, and a marketing strategy is again needed.
